On the 13th November, 2009 after several more impressive performances for Leeds Grayson extended Gradels loan period to reach up to the 2nd January, 2010. Further into the season of 2009-10 and Grayson was again prompted to extend Gradels loan period after some crucial match winning performances for the Whites but after a 4-2 win against Stockport County manager Grayson confirmed he had begun talks with all the parent clubs of United's loan players and shortly after on the 25th January, 2010 Gradel was signed by Leeds in a two-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
