Andrew Hughes was signed by Dennis Wise on the 9th August, 2009 for an undisclosed fee. Hughes's natural position is on the right side of midfield although his versatility allows him to be comfortable across all the midfield, Hughes has also sufficiently filled both full back positions. Popular with the fans Hughes is not scared of a challenge and has the ability to rally the team on. "...Dennis Wise told me the challenge and the position the club was in.
