Description:
Max Gradel United's Ivorian Midfielder toys with Daniel Jones the Bristol Left Back here in the last Football League First Division game against Bristol Rovers at Elland Road on the 8th May, 2010. Max started the game for Leeds but was sent off during the first half after an altercation with Jones.
Ivorian Max Gradel was brought in from Leicester City by manager Simon Grayson for a month loan deal on the 19th October, 2009. Max made an impressive start for the Whites winning the Man of the Match award for Leeds after coming on as substitute in a 2-1 win over Norwich City at Elland Road on the very same day as his move. On the 13th November, 2009 after several more impressive performances for Leeds Grayson extended Gradels loan period to reach up to the 2nd January, 2010. Further into the season of 2009-10 and Grayson was again prompted to extend Gradels loan period after some crucial match winning performances for the Whites but after a 4-2 win against Stockport County manager Grayson confirmed he had begun talks with all the parent clubs of United's loan players and shortly after on the 25th January, 2010 Gradel was signed by Leeds in a two-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee. Match report to follow. Leeds United: Higgs, Lowry, Bromby, Collins, Doyle, Kilkenny, Johnson, Hughes, Gradel, Beckford, Becchio. Subs: Howson for Lowry, Watt for Becchio, Snodgrass for Beckford.
