Paul Connolly here United's Defender free to run with the ball after Scottish International Striker Robert Snodgrass puts in the challenge. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against Reading at the Madejski Stadium on the 27th November, 2010. Connolly played the full ninety minutes in the game against the Berkshire outfit while Snodgrass was replaced after 88 minutes by Leeds born Lloyd Sam.
The United manager Simon Grayson signed Paul Connolly from Derby County on a free transfer for a three year contract on the 10th June, 2010. Connolly took over the number two shirt for the Whites displacing Jason Crowe who took the shirt number 20 spot. A delight Grayson said "Paul brings plenty of experience and know-how to the squad." Gary McAllister beat a host of other clubs when he signed the highly rated Robert Snodgrass in late July, 2008 from Scottish outfit Livingston on a three year contract. After some excellent match winning performances 'Snoddy' soon established himself as one of Grayson's automatic choices for his first eleven and with two years left on his current contract he was offered a new four year deal with United at the beginning of the 2009-10 season. The Members Club Player of the Year for 2008-09 was delighted with the offer. "It`s been great since I came down here last summer and I really love the club.
