David Norris United's English Midfielder about to get the game under way here with El Hadji Diouf the Senegalese Forward waiting to receive the initial pass. Scottish International Ross McCormack looks on. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against Peterborough United at London Road Stadium on the 25th August, 2012. All three players started the game for Leeds but Diouf was replaced on 76 minutes by Samuel Byram while McCormack was replaced after 79 minutes by Dominic Poleon.
The United manager Neil Warnock signed El Hadji Diouf the Senegalese international for the Whites on the 9th August, 2012 on a non-contract basis from Doncaster Rovers. Diouf is a controversial figure in the game and came to Elland Road carrying more than his fare share of baggage, the United manager himself referred to Diouf as being 'lower than a sewer rat' after an incident at Ewood Park which saw Jamie Mackie stretchered off with multiple fractures to his leg. The fans at Elland Road were initially split on the decision to sign the Senegal forward but despite that contention he will always get the faithful's support while he is giving 100% in a White shirt. Diouf made his debut appearance for Leeds coming on as substitute in the Football League Cup game against Shrewsbury Town on the 11th August, 2012. Manager Neil Warnock captured the signature of David Norris on the 26th July, 2012. The fancied Midfielder had attracted interest from a host of other clubs before the Whites Boss Warnock had made it clear that United had renewed their interest in the player. Norris was previously linked with a move to Elland Road the previous Summer. Coming on a free transfer David Norris the Midfielder is one of four new Summer signings from troubled League One outfit Portsmouth FC. He made his debut for Leeds in the Football League Cup game against Shrewsbury Town on the 11th August, 2012. Manager Warnock said: "I think David always wanted to sign for us... It was just tying up everything and being able to give him the go-ahead. There's a number of clubs he's spoken to who were hoping and hanging on for him so it's good to put it over the line." Manager Simon Grayson signed Scotland International Ross McCormack from Cardiff City on the 27th August, 2010 for an undisclosed fee. Ross made his debut for the Whites just a day later coming on as substitute in the 70th minute in the 1-0 away win at Watford. United's manager Grayson was delight with the capture of Ross saying: "Ross is a player of good quality.... He's proved in the Championship he can score goals and hopefully he will continue that with us." Leeds United: Kenny, Peltier. Lees, Pearce, Drury, Diouf, Austin, Norris, Varney, McCormack, Becchio. Subs: Byram for Diouf, Poleon for McCormack, Gray for Becchio. Thanks To: Eric of the West Midland Whites for this great pic. Views:
