Gary McAllister here signs his name for a fan outside Elland Road during Howard Wilkinson's 1991-92 Championship winning season. Gary McAllister was signed by Howard Wilkinson from Leicester City on 2nd July 1990 for a fee of £1M. A great capture by Howard Wilkinson as McAllister was instrumental in the side that went on to win the last English First Division Title. After the take-over of the club in 1996 McAllister was sold to Coventry City on 26th July, 1996 for a fee of £3M.
McAllister returned to Elland Road as manager in 2007-08 after Wise left Leeds in a slump for Newcastle. He managed to turn the season around and take United to the first division Play Off Final where they were narrowly beat by Doncaster Rovers 1-0. Things didn't go as planned in the next season 2008-09 and after 21 games, with Leeds in 9th position McAllister was sacked. Thanks to William A Dobson for this great pic.
