Australian Shane Lowry was signed on loan for United by Simon Grayson on the 28th January, 2010. The announcement of the loan was made to the Elland Road public before the game against Colchester United on the 30th January, 2010. Lowry made an impressive showing in the same game before he picked up a minor injury in the 71st minute which forced him off the park. Lowry's original loan deal from Aston Villa will keep him at Elland Road until the 13th March, 2010.
