Description: Mika Vayrynen United's Finnish International Midfielder on the London Road pitch, caught here during some pre match exercises. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against Peterborough United at London Road Stadium on the 22nd October, 2011. Mika started the game for Leeds but was replaced on 49 minutes by Lloyd Sam.

The United manager Simon Grayson signed Midfielder Mika Vayrynen on the 13th September, 2011 while he was a free agent for a year with an option to extend the contract for a further year. The Finnish International had won 54 caps for his country at the time of signing for Leeds and the player joins his fellow countryman Mikael Forssell at Elland Road. He made his first appearance for The Whites as substitute when he replaced Luciano Becchio in the the 3rd Round of the FL Cup against Manchester United on the 20th September, 2011. United manager Grayson commented at the time of signing: "There were good offers from clubs on the continent but he's turned them down because of his ambition to play for us... "He has won over 50 caps and has a fantastic pedigree. He can play as an attacking or holding midfielder."

Leeds United: Rachubka, Connolly, Lees, O'Dea, White, Vayrynen, Howson, Clayton, Pugh, McCormack (Nunez 82), Keogh.
Subs: Sam for Vayrynen, Nunez for McCormack, Becchio for Keogh.
