Description:
Patrick Kisnorbo United's Australian International Defender and Hunduran International Midfielder Ramon Nunez have a word here on the Elland Road pitch during a break in play. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against Crystal Palace at Elland Road on the 10th September, 2011. Both Patrick and Ramon started the game for Leeds while Ramon was replaced on 58 minutes by Luciano Becchio.
Defender Kisnorbo was signed by Simon Grayson on the 22nd July, 2009 in a two year deal coming from Leicester City. Kisnorbo turned down a host of Championship clubs who were also after his signature to join the Whites. 'Paddy' made his debut for United in the 2009-10 season opener against Exeter City at Elland Road where he picked up a head wound that required 12 stitches. United won the game 2-1 and Kisnorbo stayed on the park througout. On 12th August, 2009 Kisnorbo brought Leeds United Football Club another landmark, his 15th appearance for Australia in the game against the Republic of Ireland made Patrick Leeds United's 100th full international player. Kisnorbo also picked up a couple of stitches above his right brow in the game with Ireland for his efforts. His bravery and strong performances soon made Kisnorbo a favourite with the Elland Road faithful. During the season 2009-10 Patrick suffered an Achilles injury which kept him out of the last nine games for United including the final game decider against Bristol Rovers. The injury also kept him from travelling to the World Cup to represent Australia. Despite the injury Patrick was named as the fans Leeds United Player Of The Season and also the Players Player Of The Season for 2009-10. Manager Simon Grayson initially brought Ramon Nunez to Elland Road on trial in August 2010. Nunez scored in his first outing for The Whites in a pre-season friendly against Bradford Park Avenue which prompted the manager to extend his trial period by one week. By the 31st August, 2010 Ramon had showed enough promise to gain him a professional contract, he signed for Leeds in a deal that reached up until January 2011 with an option to extend the contract further at the end. On the 1st January, 2011 despite not playing many games for The Whites manager Grayson revealed he might get a new contract. On the 13th January, 2011 Nunez got a new contract with Leeds that would last up until the end of season 2010-11 with an option of extending it for a further year at the end.
