Description:
Jonathan Howson and Neill Collins here lead the pack on the Victoria Park pitch in Leeds' pre-match warm up routine. The shot coming before United's pre-season friendly game against Hartlepool United on the 24th July, 2010. Both Howson and Collins played the full ninety minutes for the Whites in the game against the Pools.
Loiner and United fan Jonathan Howson came through the Academy at Leeds United and made his senior debut for the club on the 19th September, 2006 in the second round of the Football League Cup which United won 3-1. Later in the same season of 2006-07 Howson was given his league debut by manager Wise which came on the 23rd December, 2006 in the 0-0 draw with Hull City at Elland Road. By the season 2007-08 Howson had established himself as the natural choice for his position winning the Young Player of the Year award and earning a new three year contract with the Whites in the bargain. Manager Simon Grayson handed the role of captain to Howson at the start of season 2009-10 due to the absence of injured fellow Loiner Richard Naylor. Manager Simon Grayson brought Neill Collins to Leeds on loan in March, 2010 for the rest of the 2009-10 season. Coming from Preston North End Neill was an important fixture in United's push for promotion to the Championship. After playing that instrumental part in United's automatic promotion to the Championship Neill was signed up for a three year deal on the 7th July, 2010 for an undisclosed fee. Leeds United: Higgs, Connolly, Collins, Bromby, White, Snodgrass, Kilkenny, Howson, Johnson, Sam, Becchio. Subs: Hughes for Connolly, Gradel for Sam, Grella for Kilkenny, Somma for Becchio. Thanks to Colin for this great pic. Submitted: 08/05/10 Views: 83 Tags: Rate this image:
