Description: Andy Hughes the United Midfielder here signals the Leeds Salute towards a packed Kop at Elland Road after United had just won promotion to the Championship. The shot coming after the final game of the Football League First Division against Bristol Rovers on the 8th May, 2010. Andy Hughes played the full ninety minutes in the game against the Pirates. 38,234 watched the game at the home of the White Gods and the crowd pushed United's average gate to number one spot in the division for the season.

Andrew Hughes was signed by Dennis Wise on the 9th August, 2009 for an undisclosed fee. Hughes's natural position is on the right side of midfield although his versatility allows him to be comfortable across all the midfield, Hughes has also sufficiently filled both full back positions. Popular with the fans Hughes is not scared of a challenge and has the ability to rally the team on. "...Dennis Wise told me the challenge and the position the club was in. He wants fighters and I felt the challenge of playing for Leeds United..."
