Description:
Jonathan Howson the Leeds born Midfielder and Argentine Striker Luciano Becchio in action for Leeds United here on the Carrow Road pitch. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against Norwich City at Carrow Road on the 20th November, 2010. Howson played the full ninety minutes for Leeds in the game against the Norfolk outfit while Luciano was replaced by Neill Collins on 90 minutes.
Loiner and United fan Jonathan Howson came through the Academy at Leeds United and made his senior debut for the club on the 19th September, 2006 in the second round of the Football League Cup which United won 3-1. Later in the same season of 2006-07 Howson was given his league debut by manager Wise which came on the 23rd December, 2006 in the 0-0 draw with Hull City at Elland Road. By the season 2007-08 Howson had established himself as the natural choice for his position winning the Young Player of the Year award and earning a new three year contract with the Whites in the bargain. Manager Simon Grayson handed the role of captain to Howson at the start of season 2009-10 due to the absence of injured fellow Loiner Richard Naylor. The Argentinian Becchio was signed by Gary McAllister on the 31st July, 2008 for three years. He impressed the manager with his performances during the 2007-08 pre-season friendlies while on loan from Spanish outfit Merida Union Deportiva. With some stellar performances for Leeds since his arrival he has made the number 10 shirt his own and become a fans favourite. Leeds United: Schmeichel, Connolly, Bruce, O'Brien, McCartney, Johnson, Kilkenny, Howson, Snodgrass, Becchio, Gradel. Subs: Sam for Gradel, McCormack for Kilkenny, Collins for Becchio.
