George Up The Line

Description: Georger McCartney United's loanee Defender here trots up the dead ball line after he took a throw in for The Whites. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against Coventry City at Elland Road on the 5th February, 2011. George played the full ninety minutes for Leeds in the game against the West Midlands outfit.

Simon Grayson the United manager initially brought in George McCartney on a months loan from Sunderland on the 23rd September, 2010. On the 4th October it was announced that the loan deal would be extended for two days so he could play in the Championship game against Cardiff City. His loan deal was again extended on the 30th October for another month and further extended for a third time on the 1st December. McCartney returned to Sunderland on the 30th December but on the 14th January, 2011 during the transfer window United re-signed McCartney in a loan deal that would keep the player at Elland Road for the remainder of the 2010-11 season.
