Brian, Paddy And Dom

Brian, Paddy And Dom

Description: Brian McDermott the United manager shakes the hands of Paddy Kenny and Dominic Poleon here on the Vicarage Road pitch after the final whistle. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against Watford at Vicarage Road on the 4th May, 2013. The last game of the 2012-13 season. Paddy played the full game for Leeds while Dominic replaced the injured Steve Morison after 10 minutes and scored United's first goal.

After Neil Warnock resigned from his position as Leeds United manager on April 1st, 2013, the Leeds board didn't waste much time in finding his replacement. It was less than a fortnight later on the 12th April that Brian McDermott was appointed as the new manager. Signing for the club on a three year contract Brian brought with him Nigel Gibbs, the two have experience working together at Reading, with Nigel becoming the clubs new Assistant Manager. McDermott's previous managerial stint saw him achieve promotion with Reading to the Premier League in 2011-12, the Berkshire club won the Play Off final after winning 15 of the last 19 games in the Championship. McDermott told Radio Leeds after he joined the club, "This is probably the only club I would come to at this stage of the season. I just want to get going now." The manager had previously stated that he would wait till the Summer to resume his managerial career. Brians first game in charge for Leeds was a tough test in the Yorkshire derby against Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road, the game coming on the 13th April just a day after he signed for Leeds. United won the game 2-1.

The Leeds United manager Neil Warnock signed the Republic of Ireland International Patrick 'Paddy' Kenny on the 11th July, 2012 on a three year contract. Obviously a favourite with the United Boss this is the fourth time in his career he has been signed by Warnock. Coming to Leeds from Queens Park Rangers for a reported fee of 500k he gained the coveted number one shirt and made his debut in the Football League Cup game against Shrewsbury Town on the 11th August, 2012. The United Boss said after the signing: "I think he's a great keeper. He's one of the best in the country, not just the Championship... We are delighted to get him. He's a northern lad, he knows what a pull Leeds is and he knows all about it.

Manager Simon Grayson signed the youngster Dominic Poleon in the Summer of 2010 from Southend United. After a successful period in the reserves and youth team, Dominic was leading goalscorer for the youth team in 2011-12 with 12 goals, he earned himself a one year professional contract. Dominic featured in all but one of United's 2012-13 pre-season friendlies and scored his first senior goal for The Whites against Tavistock. After a good showing with the first team during the pre-season campaign it was manager Neil Warnock who gave the player his full first team debut. Coming on as substitute in the Football League Cup First Round game against Shrewsbury Town at Elland Road on the 11th August, 2012. Poleon made his first start for Leeds in the Championship game against Nottingham Forest at Elland Road on the 22nd September, 2012. Dominic scored on his debut.

Leeds United: Kenny, Peltier, Lees, Pearce, Drury, Tonge, Brown, Green, McCormack, Morison, Varney.
Subs: Poleon/Morison, White/Brown, Hall/Green.

Seeing Paddy Kenny and Dominic Poleon together makes me happy because they are my idols. Their interaction gives me a different kind of happiness. Being a writer in https://www.ukbestessay.org/coursework I want to feature them on my blog and hopefully, I will get the chance to know them better through an interview!
