Description:
Action here from Elland Road featuring the Australian International Patrick Kisnorbo and United's English Defender Michael Brown. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against Crystal Palace at Elland Road on the 10th September, 2011. Kisnorbo started and finished the game for Leeds while Michael Brown started the game but was replaced on 76 minutes by Lloyd Sam.
Defender Kisnorbo was signed by Simon Grayson on the 22nd July, 2009 in a two year deal coming from Leicester City. Kisnorbo turned down a host of Championship clubs who were also after his signature to join the Whites. 'Paddy' made his debut for United in the 2009-10 season opener against Exeter City at Elland Road where he picked up a head wound that required 12 stitches. United won the game 2-1 and Kisnorbo stayed on the park througout. On 12th August, 2009 Kisnorbo brought Leeds United Football Club another landmark, his 15th appearance for Australia in the game against the Republic of Ireland made Patrick Leeds United's 100th full international player. Kisnorbo also picked up a couple of stitches above his right brow in the game with Ireland for his efforts. His bravery and strong performances soon made Kisnorbo a favourite with the Elland Road faithful. During the season 2009-10 Patrick suffered an Achilles injury which kept him out of the last nine games for United including the final game decider against Bristol Rovers. The injury also kept him from travelling to the World Cup to represent Australia. Despite the injury Patrick was named as the fans Leeds United Player Of The Season and also the Players Player Of The Season for 2009-10. Manager Simon Grayson signed Michael Brown from Portsmouth on the 11th July, 2011. Brown signed on a free transfer for a year with an option of extending the period a further year. Wearing the number eight shirt Brown made his debut for Leeds in the opening match of the 2011-12 season in the game against Southampton at St Marys Stadium. United manager Simon Grayson said: "We're delighted to finalise things with Michael. He is a player that I have long been interested in and I'm glad we've been able to sort things out for him to come here....He has experience and know-how, and he has played at the highest level. He fits the bill in terms of the quality of player I was looking to bring in and he will be a great addition to the squad. Leeds United: Lonergan, Lees, Kisnorbo, O'Dea, Taylor, Snodgrass, Brown, Howson, Nunez, McCormack, Keogh. Subs: Becchio for Nunez, Forssell for Keogh, Sam for Brown.
