Description: Jason Pearce United's English born Defender caught in a tangle for the ball with an opposition number here. Meanwhile Rodolph Austin the Jamaican International Midfielder is on a charge to sort it out. New boys Lee Peltier, Luke Varney and David Norris are also pictured in this action pic on the Elland Road pitch. The shot coming from the first Football League Championship game of the 2012-13 campaign against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Elland Road on the 18th August, 2012. All five players featured played the full game for Leeds against the West Midlands outfit.

The United manager finally brought Luke Varney to Elland Road on the 23rd July, 2012 after weeks of speculation. The English Midfielder costing 300k was one of four new Summer signings from troubled League One outfit Portsmouth FC. Always a favourite of the United Boss Warnock the manager said: "I have been after Luke for about seven years now on and off. I have spoken to him a number of times at different clubs but have never quite managed to sign him. He is an unpredictable type of player and the fans like him and I think there are goals in him. I will be setting him a target; I would like to think he can score between 8 and 10 goals next season." Luke made his debut for the Whites and scored his first goal for the club in the Football League Cup game Shrewsbury Town on the 11th August, 2012.

Manager Neil Warnock captured the signature of David Norris on the 26th July, 2012. The fancied Midfielder had attracted interest from a host of other clubs before the Whites Boss Warnock had made it clear that United had renewed their interest in the player. Norris was previously linked with a move to Elland Road the previous Summer. Coming on a free transfer David Norris the Midfielder is one of four new Summer signings from troubled League One outfit Portsmouth FC. He made his debut for Leeds in the Football League Cup game against Shresbury Town on the 11th August, 2012. Manager Warnock said: "I think David always wanted to sign for us... It was just tying up everything and being able to give him the go-ahead. There's a number of clubs he's spoken to who were hoping and hanging on for him so it's good to put it over the line."

After weeks of speculation manager Neil Warnock finally captured the signature of Rodolph Austin. The Jamaican International Midfielder signed for Leeds on the 23rd July, 2012. Coming from Norwegian outfit SK Brann the tough tackling Midfielder's cost to The Whites was 300k. Austin revealed he always wanted to join United as soon as he heard the Club was interested, with Eirik Bakke his former teammate at Brann and former United Midfielder being a major influence. Rodolph made his debut for Leeds in the Football League Cup game against Shrewsbury Town on the 11th August, 2012. The player days before his debut told the official site: "I can't speak for the fans, but I'm a person who likes to win and I always try and do my best. It's for them to judge me... Fans like players who play with passion and I think it's up to them to be honest, but I'll keep doing what I'm doing."

The Leeds manager Neil Warnock signed Jason Pearce on the 4th May, 2012. Jason was the first Summer signing for the United Boss and came to Elland Road for a reported cut price fee of 500k. Warnock had previously tried to sign Pearce while he was manager at Queens Park Rangers and again for United towards the end of the 2011-12 season. The English Defender is one of four new Summer signings from troubled League One outfit Portsmouth FC. Jason made his debut for The Whites in the Football League Cup game against Shrewsbury Town on the 11th August, 2012. After signing the player told the official site: "Leeds showed an interest a few weeks ago and as soon as I knew of that I wanted to get it done... I'm glad it's done now. The gaffer showed me around, and you can see what a massive club this is with great facilities, and you can't turn it down.

Lee Peltier a long time target of the Leeds United Boss Neil Warnock signed for The Whites on the 4th August, 2012. Coming from Leicester City the no nonsense Defender's cost to the Elland Road kitty was a reported 600k making him the most expensive player of manager Warnock's Summer spending spree. Lee made his debut for The Whites in the Football League Cup game against Shrewsbury Town on the 11th August, 2012. He was made captain of United a week later for the Championship opener at Elland Road in the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Lee told the official site after his move: "I had a few options, but I sat down with my family and friends, and went through them all, and Leeds was my first choice. You look at the fan base and the size of the club is massive, the gaffer can attract players with his record, and I wanted to come here."
