Description: A great shot here featuring from top to bottom Jonathan Howson, Danny Pugh, Adam Clayton, Luciano Becchio and Robert Snodgrass just after Adam Clayton puts United in the lead. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on the 6th November, 2011. Howson, Pugh, Clayton and Snodgrass all played the full game for Leeds with Clayton bagging the only goal of the game. While Luciano replaced keogh in the game aginst the Filberts on 77 minutes.

Loiner and United fan Jonathan Howson came through the Academy at Leeds United and made his senior debut for the club on the 19th September, 2006 in the second round of the Football League Cup which United won 3-1. Later in the same season of 2006-07 Howson was given his league debut by manager Wise which came on the 23rd December, 2006 in the 0-0 draw with Hull City at Elland Road. By the season 2007-08 Howson had established himself as the natural choice for his position winning the Young Player of the Year award and earning a new three year contract with the Whites in the bargain. Manager Simon Grayson handed the role of captain to Howson at the start of season 2009-10 due to the absence of injured fellow Loiner Richard Naylor.

Danny Pugh originally joined Leeds in 2004 when Kevin Blackwell was the manager at Elland Road. The player came to Leeds in a part exchange deal which saw Alan Smith move to the wrong side of The Pennines in a controversial move. A good start for The Whites saw Pugh hold down the Left Midfield position but with Blackwell re-building Pugh's position was lost and he soon found himself on the bench. The player only made five appearances for Leeds in his last six month before he was sold to Preston North End in 2006.
Second time around for Pugh at Elland Road and it was manager Simon Grayson who brought the player in on a three month loan with the option to a permanent move on 22 September, 2011 from Stoke City. After an injury to club captain Jonathan Howson Pugh moved into the Central Midfield position and the Club made his move permanent when he put pen to paper in a two and a half year contract which he penned on the 2nd January, 2012.

Manager Simon Grayson initially signed Adam Clayton from Manchester City on a months loan on the 6th August, 2010. He made his debut for Leeds coming on as substitute in the home game against Derby County just 24 hours after he had signed. Just over a month later on the 21st September, 2010 Clayton joined Leeds on a permanent basis. He made three more substitute appearances for Leeds in that season before he was loaned out to Peterborough and then the MK Dons for match experience. He impressed at his loan clubs and by now Clayton wanted to stake a claim to play in the first team at Elland Road for the 2011-12 season. Clayton's chance came after the departure of Midfielders Neil Kilkenny and Bradley Johnson in the Summer transfer window. He started in the first eleven for Leeds in the opening game of the season against Southampton at St Marys and since as made himself a permanent fixture in United's Midfield.

The Argentinian Becchio was signed by Gary McAllister on the 31st July, 2008 for three years. He impressed the manager with his performances during the 2007-08 pre-season friendlies while on loan from Spanish outfit Merida Union Deportiva. With some stellar performances for Leeds since his arrival he has made the number 10 shirt his own and become a fans favourite.

Gary McAllister beat a host of other clubs when he signed the highly rated Robert Snodgrass in late July, 2008 from Scottish outfit Livingston on a three year contract. After some excellent match winning performances 'Snoddy' soon established himself as one of Grayson's automatic choices for his first eleven and with two years left on his current contract he was offered a new four year deal with United at the beginning of the 2009-10 season. The Members Club Player of the Year for 2008-09 was delighted with the offer. "It`s been great since I came down here last summer and I really love the club. From the fans to the back-room staff and the other players..."

Leeds United: McCarthy, Connolly, O'Brien, Kisnorbo, White, Snodgrass, Howson, Clayton, Pugh, McCormack, Keogh.
Subs: Bromby for O'Brien, Becchio for Keogh, Brown for McCormack.
