Description:
Casper Ankergren here United's Danish goalkeeper in a defensive outfield mode as he saves the danger with his foot. The action coming from the Football League First Division game against Southampton at St Mary's Stadium on the 13th march, 2010.
Ankergren was signed on loan by Dennis Wise on 31st January, 2009 from Brondby IF of Denmark. After establishing himself in the side making some match winning saves in the second half of the 2006-07 season he soon won the Elland Road faithful over and his loan deal was made permanent on 6th August, 2007 for an undisclosed fee signing on for a year. United's first choice keeper up until the start of the 2009-10 season when Ankergren lost his number one spot to Shane Higgs. Match report to follow.
