Description: Andy Lonergan United's English born Keeper and the Irish born Defender Darren O'Dea applaud the travelling White Army here after the game on the Riverside Stadium pitch. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on the 11th March, 2012. Both Lonergan and O'Dea played the full game for Leeds against the North Yorkshire outfit.

The United manager Simon Grayson signed Andrew Lonergan on the 25th July, 2011 for three years. Andrew coming from Preston North End cost United 200k and he was given the number one shirt. He made his debut for Leeds in the opening game of the 2011-12 season at St Mary's Stadium in the match against Southampton. Early form from the goalkeeper in his first season cemented his claim as the first choice goalkeeper at Elland Road and many fans suggested he was more than a capable replacement for Kasper Schmeichel who had left previously in the Summer transfer window. The under 21 England International was attracting interest from premiership clubs including Everton and the United manager Grayson was delighted when he captured his signature. After the signing Grayson commented: "....Andy was always my number one choice, and I'm delighted we could bring him here....He's played many games in the Championship and has been linked with many moves to the Premier League which speaks volumes about him."

Manager Simon Grayson signed Darren O'Dea from Celtic on the 4th August, 2011 for a season long loan. O'Dea had a trial with Leeds United aged 13 and was given his customary number 48 shirt after the player arrived for real. Darren made his debut for Leeds at the start of the 2011-12 season in the game against Southampton. After the signing was completed the player commented.."I'm delighted to be here. I'd been looking to get away and as soon as I heard of Leeds' interest I had no doubts.... I was on trial here as a 13-year-old and the place was impressive then. It's changed a bit since, but it's a great set-up here and it was an easy decision to make.
