A Bruce Watch

Description: Alex Bruce here United's English Defender keeps his eyes to the left as United prepare to take a throw in. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against Barnsley at Elland Road on the 22nd February, 2011. Alex played the full ninety minutes for The Whites in the game against the Tykes.

After being a long time target for Simon Grayson the United manager finally signed Alex Bruce from Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee on the 30th July, 2010 on a two year deal, with the option for a further year. Alex's impressive debut came in the Championship game against Doncaster Rovers on the 17th September, 2010 in the season 2010-11.
Manager Grayson.... "Alex is going to be a good member of the squad. He can play at centre-back, right-back, and as a holding midfielder... We felt we were short in those areas at this moment and we're delighted he's come... He's got a lot of experience, he's played in the Championship and the Premiership and he's what we want - a player who knows the division, is hungry and wants to be successful."

Leeds United: Schmeichel, Lichaj, O'Brien, Bruce, McCartney, Johnson, Kilkenny, Snodgrass, Howson, Gradel, Becchio.
Subs: Watt for Snodgrass, Somma for Becchio.
