Description: United fans pose for the camera here before the 1970 FA Cup Final with Chelsea at Wembley. A dominant Leeds United were unlucky not to lift the FA Cup the second time of asking as the Whites dominated play on a muddy Wembley pitch. Just two minutes to go before the final whistle when Chelsea equalised taking the match to a replay. The first time an FA Cup Final had been taken to a replay since 1912. Charlton and Hunter scored for The Whites in a game that ended 2-2.

The replay at Old Trafford has gone down in history as one of the most notorious games of football in English match history. Respected referee David Ellary watched a video of the match years later and in his opinion said there should have been six red cards and 20 yellow cards. Harris for Chelsea should certainly have seen red after his kick to the back of Eddie Gray's knee. It was this attack that set the scene for the rest of the game. The game again went to extra time and it was Chelsea who scored the winner in the second period. Jones scored for Leeds in the game which ended 2-1.
The 1970 FA Cup replay is one of the most watched Uk televison shows with an audience of 28 million.
