Respected referee David Ellary watched a video of the match years later and in his opinion said there should have been six red cards and 20 yellow cards. Harris for Chelsea should certainly have seen red after his kick to the back of Eddie Gray's knee. It was this attack that set the scene for the rest of the game. The game again went to extra time and it was Chelsea who scored the winner in the second period. Jones scored for Leeds in the game which ended 2-1.
