United had just clinched promotion in the final game of the Football League Division One season of 2009-10 against Bristol Rovers on the 8th May, 2010. 38,234 watched the game at the home of the White Gods and the crowd pushed United's average gate to number one spot in the division for the season.
Andrew Hughes was signed by Dennis Wise on the 9th August, 2009 for an undisclosed fee. Hughes's natural position is on the right side of midfield although his versatility allows him to be comfortable across all the midfield, Hughes has also sufficiently filled both full back positions.
