Description: The Leeds United travelling army at Brammall Lane here cramming their bottom tier terraced allocation in the second division clash with Sheffield United during season 1984-85. Eddie Gray's men lost the game 2-1 with the Leeds goal coming from striker Andy Ritchie in front of a crowd of 21,468. Eddie Gray also lost his place as Leeds United manager after this season end. Gray's Leeds United was noted for its stylish play and the youthfull team Gray had assembled were a promising proposition which if allowed to mature could have took United places. Unfortunately the board felt they couldn't wait for his team to develop. Desperate for promotion sooner rather than later Gray was sacked and the board faced a demonstration from the fans, a board member also resigned because of the sacking.
