Description: A good season back in the top flight for Raich Carter's men as United finished the 1956-57 season in a reasonable 8th position on 44 points and scoring 72 goals. John Charles the United centre forward showed he had what it takes to succeed in the top flight as his previous form for Leeds continued, he netted 38 of the 72 goals United scored.
