John Charles being away on National Service didn't help United's cause as Charles was fast becoming a major part of the Buckley set up at United. A bigger crowd of 50,645 turned out for the FA Cup 4th round game against Bradford Park Avenue which United won 2-0 with goals from Ray Iggleden and Jim Milburn.

Back Row: Jim McCabe, Jimmy Dunn, Brian Taylor, Roy Kirk, Jim Milburn.
Front Row: Peter Harrison, Ray Iggleden, Len Browning, Tom Burden, Ernie Stevenson, Harold Williams.
