Description:
Major Frank Buckley's Leeds United had a reasonable season in 1950-51. Although never a threat for the title they did come close to a promotion spot, just two points behind third placed Cardiff, finishing in the previous season place of 5th. United had the same goal difference +8 and had scored more goals than Cardiff. This was also the season John Charles showed his versatility, covering for strikers that were out injured the centre half moved to the centre forward position scoring three times in as many games.
