Description:
Major Frank Buckley's Leeds United finished 5th in the Second Division season 1949-50 and a promising youngster called John Charles finished his first full season with United playing in the centre half position. United also reached the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup which was the furthest they had gone in the competition up to this point. Leeds were narrowly beaten by First Division Arsenal at Highbury 1-0 in front of 62,273 spectators.
