Up In Arms

Description: United's Aidan White, Andrew Keogh and Robert Snodgrass here all having words with the referee after a decision did not go the way of United. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against West Ham United at Upton Park on the 21st August, 2011. All three of the Whites played the full ninety minutes for Leeds in the game against the East London outfit.

Loiner and Leeds fan Aidan White came through the youth system at Elland Road after joining the academy in 2002. It was manager Gary McAllister who gave him his first first team debut when at the age of 16 he started for Leeds in the Football League Cup game against Crystal Palace on the 26th August, 2008. Aidan received a standing ovation for his efforts after he was substituted and he was soon in the action again seven days later after he started for Leeds in the first round of the Football League Trophy against Bradford City. Another impressive performance beyond his years prompted manager McAllister to give Aidan his first League start for Leeds which came in a 2-0 win over Carlisle United on the 20th September, 2008. Further strong performances from White in the season 2008-09 earned the Loiner a contract at Elland Road which lasts until June 2012.

Andrew Keogh initially moved to Leeds at the age of sixteen. The player found it hard to break through into the first team and was loaned out to Scunthorpe United where he made 12 appearances and scored two goals for the Lincolnshire side. Manager Blackwell recalled Keogh due to an injury crisis when he made his debut for the Whites coming on as substitute in a 3rd Round League Cup tie against Portsmouth on the 26th October, 2004. For the rest of the season he showed only for the reserves before he was loaned out again to Bury. It was Manager Simon Grayson who gave the player his second spell at Leeds when on the 15th August, 2011 he was signed on loan with a view to a permanent move. After the move Keogh commented he had 'unfinished business' with The Whites and started his second spell in the Championship game against Hull City on the 16th August, 2011.

Gary McAllister beat a host of other clubs when he signed the highly rated Robert Snodgrass in late July, 2008 from Scottish outfit Livingston on a three year contract. After some excellent match winning performances 'Snoddy' soon established himself as one of Grayson's automatic choices for his first eleven and with two years left on his current contract he was offered a new four year deal with United at the beginning of the 2009-10 season. The Members Club Player of the Year for 2008-09 was delighted with the offer. "It`s been great since I came down here last summer and I really love the club. From the fans to the back-room staff and the other players..."

Leeds United: Lonergan, Lees, Kisnorbo, O'Dea, White, Snodgrass, Howson, Clayton, Gradel, McCormack, Keogh.
Subs: Nunez for McCormack, Sam for Gradel.
