Description: Ben Fry here the Leeds United announcer on the big screen at Elland Road interviews United legend Lucas Radebe during the half time interval. The shot coming during United's Championship game against Sheffield United at Elland Road on the 25th September, 2010 in front of 33,622 fans.

Lucas Radebe was one of two South African's who manager Howard Wilkinson signed for Leeds United in 1994, the other being Striker Philemon Masinga. Turning into a bargain buy for Leeds at 250,000 pounds Lucas shone at Elland Road and soon acquired the nickname The Chief. By the 1998-99 season Radebe was made the team captain, his captaincy came during two of United's most successful season's under then manager David O'Leary. Unfortunately for the South African and for Leeds Utd he sustained an ankle and knee injury in 2000 which kept him out for almost two years. Lucas made 200 appearances for Leeds and turned down offers from Manchester United and A.C Milan while at the club always opting to stay with the team he loves. On the 2nd May, 2005 the club held a testimonial for Lucas Radebe in a game between the Leeds United XI v International XI. Numerous ex Leeds United players turned out for the game as well as a host of International stars. The final score in front of 37,886 fans at Elland Road was Leeds United XI 3-7 International XI. In September 2010 Radebe announced he would one day like to manage Leeds United.
