Description:
A break in play is captured here with Jonathan Howson, Robert Snodgrass and Andrew Keogh on the Keepmoat Stadium pitch. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium on the 14th October, 2011. All three players featured played the full ninety minutes for Leeds in the game against the South Yorkshire outfit.
Loiner and United fan Jonathan Howson came through the Academy at Leeds United and made his senior debut for the club on the 19th September, 2006 in the second round of the Football League Cup which United won 3-1. Later in the same season of 2006-07 Howson was given his league debut by manager Wise which came on the 23rd December, 2006 in the 0-0 draw with Hull City at Elland Road. By the season 2007-08 Howson had established himself as the natural choice for his position winning the Young Player of the Year award and earning a new three year contract with the Whites in the bargain. Manager Simon Grayson handed the role of captain to Howson at the start of season 2009-10 due to the absence of injured fellow Loiner Richard Naylor. Gary McAllister beat a host of other clubs when he signed the highly rated Robert Snodgrass in late July, 2008 from Scottish outfit Livingston on a three year contract. After some excellent match winning performances 'Snoddy' soon established himself as one of Grayson's automatic choices for his first eleven and with two years left on his current contract he was offered a new four year deal with United at the beginning of the 2009-10 season. The Members Club Player of the Year for 2008-09 was delighted with the offer. "It`s been great since I came down here last summer and I really love the club. From the fans to the back-room staff and the other players..." Andrew Keogh initially moved to Leeds at the age of sixteen. The player found it hard to break through into the first team and was loaned out to Scunthorpe United where he made 12 appearances and scored two goals for the Lincolnshire side. Manager Blackwell recalled Keogh due to an injury crisis when he made his debut for the Whites coming on as substitute in a 3rd Round League Cup tie against Portsmouth on the 26th October, 2004. For the rest of the season he showed only for the reserves before he was loaned out again to Bury. It was Manager Simon Grayson who gave the player his second spell at Leeds when on the 15th August, 2011 he was signed on loan with a view to a permanent move. After the move Keogh commented he had 'unfinished business' with The Whites and started his second spell in the Championship game against Hull City on the 16th August, 2011. Leeds United: Lonergan, Connolly, Lees, O'Dea, White, Snodgrass, Howson, Clayton, Pugh, McCormack, Keogh. Subs: Becchio for McCormack, Rachubka for Lonergan, Vayrynen for Clayton.
