Description: United's Leeds born Midfielder Jonathan Howson and English born Midfielder Adam Clayton enjoying themselves in front of the camera here after the full time whistle on the Upton Park pitch. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against West Ham United at Upton Park on the 21st August, 2011. Jonny played the full ninety minutes for Leeds while Adam also played the full ninety minutes and scored United's second in the game against the East London outfit.

Loiner and United fan Jonathan Howson came through the Academy at Leeds United and made his senior debut for the club on the 19th September, 2006 in the second round of the Football League Cup which United won 3-1. Later in the same season of 2006-07 Howson was given his league debut by manager Wise which came on the 23rd December, 2006 in the 0-0 draw with Hull City at Elland Road. By the season 2007-08 Howson had established himself as the natural choice for his position winning the Young Player of the Year award and earning a new three year contract with the Whites in the bargain. Manager Simon Grayson handed the role of captain to Howson at the start of season 2009-10 due to the absence of injured fellow Loiner Richard Naylor.

Manager Simon Grayson initially signed Adam Clayton from Manchester City on a months loan on the 6th August, 2010. He made his debut for Leeds coming on as substitute in the home game against Derby County just 24 hours after he had signed. Just over a month later on the 21st September, 2010 Clayton joined Leeds on a permanent basis. He made three more substitute appearances for Leeds in that season before he was loaned out to Peterborough and then the MK Dons for match experience. He impressed at his loan clubs and by now Clayton wanted to stake a claim to play in the first team at Elland Road for the 2011-12 season. Clayton's chance came after the departure of Midfielders Neil Kilkenny and Bradley Johnson in the Summer transfer window. He started in the first eleven for Leeds in the opening game of the season against Southampton at St Marys and since as made himself a permanent fixture in United's Midfield.

Leeds United: Lonergan, Lees, Kisnorbo, O'Dea, White, Snodgrass, Howson, Clayton, Gradel, McCormack, Keogh.
Subs: Nunez for McCormack, Sam for Gradel.
