Description: Michael Brown United's Midfielder here argues against the referee's decision after the man in red, white and black [spit] had shown Zac Thompson a straight red card. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against Reading at the Madejski Stadium on the 6th April, 2012. Michael Brown played the full game for Leeds against the Berkshire outfit.

Manager Simon Grayson signed Michael Brown from Portsmouth on the 11th July, 2011. Brown signed on a free transfer for a year with an option of extending the period a further year. Wearing the number eight shirt Brown made his debut for Leeds in the opening match of the 2011-12 season in the game against Southampton at St Marys Stadium. United manager Simon Grayson said: "We're delighted to finalise things with Michael. He is a player that I have long been interested in and I'm glad we've been able to sort things out for him to come here....He has experience and know-how, and he has played at the highest level. He fits the bill in terms of the quality of player I was looking to bring in and he will be a great addition to the squad.

After a successful trial with Leeds Simon Grayson the Leeds United manager signed Zac Thompson for a six month contract in January 2011. Thompson's performances in the reserves and youth team earned the player a 12 month professional contract. Thompson made his League debut for Leeds coming on as substitute in the home game against Middlesbrough on the 13th August, 2011. Thompson made his first start for Leeds in the Football League Cup game against Doncaster Rovers on 23rd August, 2011. Even though the player suffered an ankle injury which kept him out for six weeks United still offered him a new contract. On the 12th October, 2011 United announced they had signed Thompson on a new two year contract with the club.
