A Chat With Connolly

Submitted: 02/17/11
Description: Paul Connolly United's Defender here having a chat with the Leeds born Midfielder Jonathan Howson during the players pre-match warm up. The shot coming before the Football League Championship game against Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena on the 6th November, 2010. Both Paul and Jonny played the full ninety minutes for Leeds in the game against the West Midlands outfit.

The United manager Simon Grayson signed Paul Connolly on a three year contract on the 10th June, 2010. Connolly took over the number two shirt for the Whites displacing Jason Crowe who took the shirt number 20 spot. A delight Grayson said "Paul brings plenty of experience and know-how to the squad."

Loiner and United fan Jonathan Howson came through the Academy at Leeds United and made his senior debut for the club on the 19th September, 2006 in the second round of the Football League Cup which United won 3-1. Later in the same season of 2006-07 Howson was given his league debut by manager Wise which came on the 23rd December, 2006 in the 0-0 draw with Hull City at Elland Road. By the season 2007-08 Howson had established himself as the natural choice for his position winning the Young Player of the Year award and earning a new three year contract with the Whites in the bargain. Manager Simon Grayson handed the role of captain to Howson at the start of season 2009-10 due to the absence of injured fellow Loiner Richard Naylor.

Leeds United: Brown, Connolly, Collins, O'Brien, McCartney, Kilkenny, Faye, Howson, Gradel, Becchio, Snodgrass.
Subs: Johnson for Faye, Hughes for Gradel, Somma for Kilkenny.

Thanks to Paul for this great pic.
