Old Peacock

Old Peacock

Description: The Old Peacock Pub in this shot situated on Elland Road opposite the South Stand. Elland Road was originally named after this pub because it faced the land on where the ground is built. Rugby was the dominant sport in Leeds at the time and Holbeck Rugby Club used to play at the ground. The 'Old Peacock' ground changed its name to Elland Road shortly after Association Football arrived in the shape of Leeds Woodville who shared the ground with Holbeck.

Currently the Leeds United Supporters Club run the Old Peacock.
