Description:
The East Stand at Elland Road in the early stages of construction work here. The bottom terracing part of the old Lowfields stand is still in place and was kept open during match days for spectators.
The new East Stand is a mammoth all seated stand with two tiers. When completed in 1993 at a cost of £5.5m, it boasted 25 extra Executive Boxes, a 10,000 all seated bottom tier to house the Family Stand members with a total capacity of over 17,000 all seated. The East Stand has one of the biggest cantilever stands in the world. Thanks to William A Dobson for this great pic.
