Steve Hodge the United midfielder and captain Gordon Strachan celebrate the third goal which rounded a 3-0 victory over Chelsea at Elland Road on April 11th, season 1991-92. The win kept United in the hunt for the title in only their second season back to the top flight. Cantona, Chapman and Rod Wallace got the goals for United in front of a 31,363 crowd. United went on to win the Championship beating Manchester United by four points and scoring 74 goals in the process. Leeds were only beaten 4 times the whole season.

A shot here of United captain Gordon Strachan during the home clash with Oldham Athletic on October 26th at Elland Road in their Championship winning season of 1991-92. An own goal gave United a 1-0 victory and kept their undeaten home league record intact. 28,199 fans turned up to watch the Whites maintain their title aspirations.

Strachan Warms Up
Gordon Strachan here pictured warming up on the pitch before the clash with Oldham Athletic on October 26th at Elland Road during United's Championship winning season of 1991-92. Strachan was bought by manager Wilkinson on the 21st March, 1989 from Manchester United for 300,000. Worth every penny as Gordon was fundamental in Leeds' title win, making 36 appearances for the Whites that season one as sub and scoring 4 goals. Overhall the Leeds United skipper made 226 full appearances for United scoring 43 goals. Strachan left Leeds on 1st March 1995 for Coventry City where he was to start his succesful career as manager.

Probably One Of The Biggest Bargain's In Football History. Kudos Howard Wilkinson.

The goal came courtesy of an Oldham Athletic player which gave United the 1-0 victory and kept their undeaten home league record intact. 28,199 fans turned up to watch the Whites keep their title hopes alive.
