Gary McAllister beat a host of other clubs when he signed the highly rated Robert Snodgrass in late July, 2008 from Scottish outfit Livingston on a three year contract. After some excellent match winning performances 'Snoddy' soon established himself as one of Grayson's automatic choices for his first eleven and with two years left on his current contract he was offered a new four year deal with United at the beginning of the 2009-10 season. Manager Simon Grayson brought the American Eric Lichaj in on loan for a month from Aston Villa on the 9th February, 2011. Lichaj known for his long throws has represented the USA International side at under-17 and under-20 level. He made his debut for Leeds in the Football League Championship game against Bristol City at Ashton Gate just three days after his move to The Whites.
