The United fans pack their end at this pre-season friendly with Burnley at Turf Moor here before the 2007-08 kicked off for real. United lost the game 2-0 in front of 5,290 supporters with a massive showing of support for the Whites. The panicked Burnley officials at one point ran out of tickets, according to them they said they wasn't expecting that many Leeds fans to turn up. Just under 2,000 United fans made the trip many of them from the wrong side of the Pennines. During the game the Leeds fans held a protest against Chairman Ken Bates chanting 'Get the Chelsea out of Leeds' in reference to the links that Bates and manager Wise have had with the side in the past. Then later the United fans took a comedic approach with 'Shoes off if you hate Ken Bates' which prompted many fans to remove their shoes and wave them in the air. The protests followed the release of fresh details regarding Bates' shady purchase of Leeds United.

Not So French
United fans on the way to the biggest game in the clubs history here. United were playing FC Bayern Munich in the European Cup Final of 1975 at the Parc des Princes in Paris, France. This match will always be remembered by Leeds United fans for one man, the referee Michel Kitabdjian. The trouble off the pitch that followed this prestigous game falls into comparison when compared to the appalling decisions made by the referee on the pitch. His calamitous display denied Leeds United the most coveted prize in European football. In the first half of the game United had two penalty appeals turned down, the first involved Franz Beckenbauer who while on his knees handled the ball just as Peter Lorimer was taking the ball round him. The second more blatant penalty again involved Beckenbauer when he brought Allan Clarke down in the box who was bearing down on goal. In the second half United had a Peter Lorimer goal disallowed after the referee looked to have allowed it, the linesman was running back to the centre with his flag down, it looked like United had taken the lead until the referee passed Beckenbauer who seemed to say something to the ref. Immediately he went to have words with the linesman and the goal was disallowed. A shattering blow for Armfield's men, United had dominated the game from the start but were denied the cup by two late Munich goals and the decisions of Kitabdjian. The 48,374 crowd in Paris had witnessed a Sham and the 10,000 Leeds fans who made the trip that night lost their bragging rights but gained a chant, which is still sung today.

Hello Hell We Are Leeds
The defiant and comedic greeting the Leeds fans carried with them to the UEFA Cup Semi Final with Galatasary in Istanbul. The fans of Galatasary are known to greet the away fans with messages of 'Welcome To Hell' at the airport and in the ground, this was the Leeds United fans response. The game against Galatasary was played within 24 hours of the murders of two Leeds United fans. On the 5th April, 2000, Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight were murdered by cowardly Galatasary supporting scum. Stabbed to death, because allegedly they had made insults, towards sections of the Istanbul public. An allegation that didn't have one witness who could put Kevin or Chris at the scene of any incident. RIP Kevin and Chris.
