Brian And Tom
Brian McDermott the Leeds United manager having a word with Tom Lees United's Defender here on the Vicarage Road pitch after the game. The shot coming from the Football League Championship game against Watford at Vicarage Road on the 4th May, 2013. The last game of the 2012-13 season. Tom played the full game for Leeds against The Hornets.

Tom Lees born in Warwick is a product of the Youth System at Elland Road and broke into the first team when he featured in United's pre-season friendlies of 2009. Manager Simon Grayson sent him out on loan to Accrington Stanley when the 2009-10 season started to gain match experience. After the season ended Lees returned to Elland Road where he again featured in Leeds' pre-season games but for the 2010-11 was loaned out to Bury for six months for the player to gain more match experience. After impressing at Bury the Leeds Manager Simon Grayson offered Lees a new contract and on the 10th December, 2010 he signed a two and half year contract with The Whites. His loan period was also extended where Lees spent the rest of the season playing first team football for Bury. Lees returned to Elland Road for the season 2011-12 playing in all of United's pre season fixtures. Manager Grayson decided his time had come, he made his debut for Leeds in the FL Cup 1st Round tie against Bradford City at Elland Road on the 9th August, 2011 and just seven days later scored his first goal for Leeds in the Football League Championship game against Hull City at Elland Road.

After Neil Warnock resigned from his position as Leeds United manager on April 1st, 2013, the Leeds board didn't waste much time in finding his replacement. It was less than a fortnight later on the 12th April that Brian McDermott was appointed as the new manager. Signing for the club on a three year contract Brian brought with him Nigel Gibbs, the two have experience working together at Reading, with Nigel becoming the clubs new Assistant Manager. McDermott's previous managerial stint saw him achieve promotion with Reading to the Premier League in 2011-12, the Berkshire club won the Play Off final after winning 15 of the last 19 games in the Championship. McDermott told Radio Leeds after he joined the club, "This is probably the only club I would come to at this stage of the season. I just want to get going now." The manager had previously stated that he would wait till the Summer to resume his managerial career.
