<title>Beckford On The Ball</title>
<description>Jermiane Beckford here caught taking on the Tottenham Hotspur opposition in the FA Cup 4th Round Replay at Elland Road on the 3rd February 2010. Jermaine played the full ninety minutes for United in the game against the North London team.

Jermaine Beckford was signed for Leeds United by manager Kevin Blackwell on the 16th march, 2006. Pulled from non-league Wealdstone F.C. for 50,000 pounds Beckford found it hard to find a place in Blackwell&#39;s first eleven and the striker was loaned out to Carlisle United for a month in the first quarter of the 2006-07 season. He was handed his first start for United when Dennis Wise took over the managership but was soon away on loan again, this time with Scunthorpe United. After Jermaine impressed at Scunthorpe, helping the club gain promotion to the Championship Wise gave him another chance and he started the 2007-08 season. Beckford did not disappoint as the striker scored 20 in the league that season helping the Whites reach the Play Off&#39;s. Beckford has owned the number nine shirt since and in 2008-09 became the quickest Leeds player to bag 20 goals in a season; since Hotshot Peter Lorimer during the Revie era, and soon after became only the fifth player in the clubs history to score 30 goals in a season. Beckford netted 34 times the most goals by any United player since John Charles bagged 43 in the season 1953-54.

Match report to follow.

Leeds United: Ankergren, Naylor, Michalik, Bromby, Doyle, Howson, Johnson, Hughes, Beckford, Becchio, Snodgrass.
Subs: White for Hughes, Crowe for Johnson, Grella for Becchio.

<title>A Howson Stance</title>
<description>Jonny Howson the Leeds born midfielder here prepares to take a free kick for United during the FA Cup 4th Round replay at Elland Road on the 3rd February, 2010. Jonny played the full ninety minutes for Leeds in the game against the London team.

Loiner and United fan Jonathan Howson came through the Academy at Leeds United and made his senior debut for the club on the 19th September, 2006 in the second round of the Football League Cup which United won 3-1. Later in the same season of 2006-07 Howson was given his league debut by manager Wise which came on the 23rd December, 2006 in the 0-0 draw with Hull City at Elland Road. By the season 2007-08 Howson had established himself as the natural choice for his position winning the Young Player of the Year award and earning a new three year contract with the Whites in the bargain. Manager Simon Grayson handed the role of captain to Howson at the start of season 2009-10 due to the absence of injured fellow Loiner Richard Naylor.
